SATB BPM 2026 for 50th Year
 
On Wednesday, July 22, 2026 we celebrate the Anniversary of Ken Medema’s TREE
SONG. The original song was premiered in August 1976 at the youth convention of the
Christian Reformed Church at Princeton University. The song, based on Psalm 1, traces
the different seasons and places of a tree. The verses focus on being by the riverside,
the wintertime, and the city streets. This brand new SATB choral version of the TREE
SONG incorporates a lovely four-part harmony and is dedicated to The Hymn Society of the United States and Canada at their Annual Conference. It will be sung by the
convention choir led by Ken Medema. This full circle celebration marks the 50th
Anniversary of the song and takes place at the place where it was first sung by several
thousand Christian youth!
